Services were held at the M.E. Church at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Henry M. Johnson pastor of the Epworth M.E. church of Milwaukee, a former pastor of this village, officiating. Mr. Cartwright was born in New York state in 1851 and was married to Miss Sarah Jones of Wild Rose, May 7, 1875. They moved here from Oshkosh a few years ago and resided her until this fall when he moved back to Oshkosh owing to his failing health having been an invalid for the past year, from Dropsy, which is called an incurable affliction. He was highly esteemed in the community and had many friends here. Two years ago he served as village marshal. He is survived by the widow, four sons and three daughters; Fred, Frank, and Willard Cartwright and Mrs. Fred Honsinger of Oshkosh, Mrs. William Fuller and Mrs. Frank Trittin of Winneconne. There are also two brothers and two sisters Fred and William Cartwright and Mrs. James McPhillips of Montello and Mrs. Adam Mutche of Racine.
