Oshkosh Northwestern  April 1957
     Richard E Durkee the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Durkee was born December 
1, 1899 in the Town of Belmont, Portage County and resided there until 1919 
when he joined the Navy. After 4 years of military service he came to Oshkosh.
     Surviving are his father Charles H.,three brothers Harold, Orville all of 
Oshkosh and J. Robert of Markesan and one sister Mrs. Lillian Widrick, 
Milwaukee.
     Services were provided by Fiss & Bills Funeral Home with the Rev. Erling 
Rabe pastor of St. John's Evangelical Church officating. Burial is in Portage 
County Cemetery, Portage, Wisconsin.
