He was fifty years old. Mr. Daniels was an old soldier and he has lived in this city for some time. The funeral will be held Sunday from his home. Daily Northwestern September 21, 1891 The Late Winthrop Daniels His Funeral Was Held Yesterday Afternoon The funeral of the late Winthrop Daniels was held yesterday afternoon from his home, 104 Louisa street, the Rev. L. C. Smith officiated. Winthrop Daniels was born at Hartford, Conn., May 6, 1841. He came to Wisconsin with his family in 1856. In 1865 he enlisted in Company A., Fifty-first Wisconsin infantry, and he served until the end of the war. On his return from the war he came to Oshkosh and worked at his trade as a mason until rheumatism compelled him to stop. In 1868, he was married to Miss Mary Sharp of Poygan. He leaves a wife, two sons, and one daughter. A brother lives in this city, and a sister and two brothers in Michigan.
