Elvira Howe was born in Chester, Warren county, N.Y., Sept. 10, 1815. In 1839 she was married to Mr. Thos. J. Darrow, and in 1849 moved to Wisconsin, coming directly to this county, where she soon formed a large circle of friends, who mourn her loss. She leaves also three sons, Edgar Darrow of Ironwood, Mich., Henry Darrow and Ralph Darrow of the town of Omro, with the last of whom spent her latter years. Her last years were years of affliction, but she was sustained by a firm faith in the Savior's love. She had been a consistent member of the Omro Baptist church for about fifteen years. The funeral services were conducted at the house, and the body laid to rest in the Omro cemetery. Revs. Freeman and Sherwin officiated at the funeral.
