Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Joachim DREWS ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern May 16, 1929 p. 2 Joachim Drews Dies Oshkosh Man Called by Death, Following Lingering Illness- Remains Will Be Taken to Maplewood Joachim Drews, 88 years old, died Wednesday afternoon at 1:40 o'clock at his home, 964 Main street. Death followed a lingering illness. Mr. Drews was born in Germany Dec. 28, 1840. He came to America with his family in October, 1867. The settled in the town of Forestville, in Door county, where Mr. Drews was engaged in the occupation of farming. He had been a resident of Oshkosh for fifteen years. The survivors are his wife and four children by a former marriage. The children are Joseph Drews of the town of Claybank, in Door county; Louis Drews of the town of Forestville; and Mrs. Mary Kimpel and Mrs. John McDonald, the latter two of Oshkosh. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at the home. Rev. W.W. Wilson will officiate. The remains will be taken to Maplewood Saturday afternoon, at which place funeral services will be held and where burial will take place.
