The funeral of John Farin, who died Friday in Milwaukee of cancer of the stomach was held from St. Vincent's Catholic church at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon and the gathering in attendance at the services was very large. The floral offerings were especially beautiful, among the pieces being a broken wheel and a pillow from the visiting conductors. The remains arrived in this city at noon Sunday over the Chicago & Northwestern road on a special train consisting of a baggage car and three coaches filled with conductors of the road. Another special train was run from Ashland for the accommodation of the friends of the deceased. Mr. Farin was 46 years of age and one of the best know conductors on the "Ashland flyer" running between Chicago and Ashland. The parents of the deceased are buried here and this being his former home his body was brought her for final interment. The pallbearers were all conductors on the Chicago & Northwestern road. They were C. Bartlett, T. Mehyer, Edward Cleary, J. Langlois, John Wall and L. La Fever. A sister of the deceased, Mrs. M. Quirk, of West Irving street, and a brother, P. Farin of 158 Fourteenth street, reside here.
