Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Anna Frerks ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, February 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Winneconne Local December 6, 1917 p.1 Mrs. Anna Frerks died on Tuesday, Nov. 27, of internal hemorrhage, aged 68 years, after an illness of three days, the sudden death again showing we do not know how long we will live nor how soon we will be called to the great beyond, as was this venerable lady. The news of her sudden death was a great shock to her many friends and relatives. Miss Anna Krusa was born in Hamburg, Germany, Aug. 6, 1849. She spent her girlhood days and married John Frerks in 8170 in the fatherland, shortly afterward removing to America. Previous to coming to Winneconne, forty- four years ago, they resided in Oshkosh. Mr. Frerks died Dec. 24, 1898, leaving his widow with a family of six sons, who cared for their now departed dear one, although Mrs. Frerks was industrious and conscientious toward her family. Those surviving to mourn their loss are: Henry Frerks of Chugwater, Wyo., Gustave Frerks of Canada, John, August, Charles and Adolph of Winneconne. The funeral occurred from the Baptist Church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, interment being in the Winneconne cemetery. Rev. Codd conducting the last sad rites.
