Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: August GARRY ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, January 2006 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern June 13, 1923 p.4 Long-Time Resident of Rushford is Dead Omro, Wis.- August Garry, a former resident of Berlin, Wis., passed away at St. Mary's hospital, Oshkosh. Tuesday evening at 6:30 o'clock. Mr. Garry has been failing in health for several months, and was taken to the hospital about six weeks ago. He was born in Oshkosh Sept. 15, 1863, and when a boy moved with parents to a farm in Rushford. Eight years ago, he retired from farming and purchased a home in Berlin, where he resided until a short time ago, when he sold his home and removed to Oshkosh. Mrs. Garry passed away August 10, 1922 at the home in Berlin. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Clark Hickman of Marion, Mrs. Albert Bucholtz of Rushford, Mrs. Wesley Vedder of Fond du Lac and the Misses Alma and Edna of Oshkosh, eight grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Nickles Lisbeth of 192 Grant street, Oshkosh. Mrs. William Fralish of Fargo, N.D. The remains were taken to the home of his daughter Mrs. Albert Bucholz in Poygan and the funeral will be held at St. Thomas Catholic church, Poygan, at 10:30 p.m. Friday morning, June 15. Rev. Roland Ahearn will officiate and interment in Poygan cemetery.
