Mr. Gullixson, yaerd-joie nie, was born in Norway on the nineteenth day of August, in 1831, where he lived during his boyhood. In the year 1851 he was united in marriage to Anna Kuettleson and after a short period of time, in the year of 1859, they emigrated to this country, settling in Winchester. Three years later they moved onto a farm in the town of Winneconne, and there in the year 1874 the Grim Reaper visited their home and removed his wife leaving eight children to mourn her loss, two of which have passed into the Great Unknown. In 1871 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Margruette Olsen and later in the year 1901 they sold their farm and moved to this village. Three years ago the cold hand of Death entered their midst and deprived him of his help-mate. For some time past his health had been failing but it was not until five weeks ago that he contracted a severe attack of pneumonia, which disease together with his advanced age, caused his death and relieved him from his terrible sufferings. He was a kind and loving father and a peaceful neighbor having won a large circle of devoted friends. He leaves to morn his loss six children, Mrs. O. Rasmussen, of this village, Mrs. F. Young of Winchester, George, Albert and Charles of Neenah, and Andrew of Winchester, an aged sister, Mrs. Isabella Hoeger, of Neenah, thirty grand children and thirteen great grand children. The funeral was held Monday morning at 11 o;clock from the house, Rev. J.S. McGreaham reading a prayer, and at 2 o'clock from the Lutheran church at Winchester, Rev. Larsen officiating. The remains were laid at rest in the cemetery at Winchester. All of the children were present at the funeral except Charles, of Neenah. Those from away who were in attendance were Mrs. Ed Jourdain and Mrs. Isabelle Hoeger, of Neenah, and Iris Rasmussen, of Green Bay.
