When but a girl her parents moved to a farm near Winchester, where in her twenty-first year, she was united in marriage to Julius Hannemann. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Shawano, where Mr. Hannemann met his death in a saw mill accident in the year 1885. Mrs. Hannemann then moved with her family to Milwaukee, where they resided for four years, when they came here and located on a farm one mile from the village. Eleven years ago they moved into the village and five years ago opened the Cottonwood Villa where they have since operated a successful boarding house for summer resorters. On the 13th day of June, this year, Mrs. Hannemann suffered the misfortune to fall down a couple of steps in the cellar, in which accident her left hip, was broken. This, together with a complication of other diseases, caused her death on the 17th of July, at the age of approximately 64 years. Mrs. Hannemann was prominent in the social circles of Winneconne, and was a leading member of the Easter Stars, Rebekah and the Golden Link Camp of the Royal Neighbor Lodges. The funeral was held from the house at 2 o'clock, Friday afternoon. Services were held at the house for the near relatives and friends, conducted by Rev. Codd, who also delivered a short sermon at the church, which was followed by appropriate memorial ceremonies by the members of the Rebekah lodge. The body was then given over to the Eastern Stars for burial and interment took place in the Winneconne cemetery. Four children blessed the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Hannemann, Rosalie, Albert, William and Lydia, all of this village.
