John W. Havens whose serious condition we spoke of last week, gradually
failed in strength until about 12 o'clock on Saturday, when death released
him from his suffering.  His case was a srious one from the start, and the
operation was all that would save his life.  His condition was such that
the removal of a part of one of his intestines was necessary.  Mr. Havens
had been a resident of Omro for years, and was respected by all who knew
him.  None would lend a suffering human being or a dumb animal assistance,
to the extent of his ability, quicker than he would.  He was 66 years of
age and leaves a wife and one daughter.  The funeral was held from late
residence at 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon, Rev. Sherwin officiating.  The
body was buried by the G.A.R.
