Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Orrin HOLLEY ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, September 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern February 23, 1895 p.1 Is Suddenly Called A Neenah Citizen Drops Dead Orrin Holley, a Resident Since 1858, Succumbs to an Attack of Apoplexy Today at Noon- A Sketch of his Life Neenah, Wis., Feb. 23- Orrin Holley, a well known resident of this city, fell dead at noon today at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. J.M. Thompson on Wisconsin avenue. The deceased had been ailing for the past six weeks, never having recovered from an attack of la grippe. His sudden death, however, was due to an attack of apoplexy. Mr. Holley was sitting in a chair beside the stove at the time of his demise having come into the house from out of doors only a few minutes before death occurred. His daughter asked him in regard to his choice of food for dinner, and the last words he ever spoke were in answer to this question. The deceased was seventy-eight years of age, and was born in the state of New York. He came west in 1858, and settled in this city. The funeral will be held Monday at 2 PM from the residence on Wisconsin avenue. Rev. N.F. Clark of the Island Baptist church and Rev. Mr. Chapin of First Presbyterian church will officiate.
