Johnston, who died at the home of her parents, M. Howe and wife, at an early hour that morning, as but few knew that she was sick. About a week previous to her death she was taken sick, and suffered very severe pain, a doctor was called and the severe pain was partially stopped, but the disease had such a firm hold that no human power could save her. The funeral was held at the residence of her parents on Tuesday forenoon at 10 o'clock. Rev. Sherwin preached the sermon. She was 37 years of age, and was respected by all who knew her. Mrs. Johnston left three children, the oldest about 10 years of age, who are left without a mother's care, Mr. and Mrs. Howe, the remaining daughter and the three little ones left to their care, have the deep sympathy of all who know them, in the stroke which has removed from them one on whom they expected to lean when the storms of life were to be borne.
