KAYE ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, December 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern May 31, 1890 p.1 Death of Mrs. J. W. Kaye An Estimable Menasha Lady Dies at Kansas City Yesterday Menasha, Wis., May 31-- For several weeks past death with his sickle has held constant watch over the house of J. W. Kaye at Kansas City. Mrs. Kaye has been a terrible sufferer and yesterday afternoon at half past four o'clock succumbed to the inevitable reaper. She was a lady of such high christian qualities that we fail to do her justice. To Say that she possessed a wide circle of warm friends is to express the meaning in mild tones. She was loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Kaye at the death was in her twenty ninth year and was the daughter of Mr. Carlton Bachelder of this place, where she passed her early childhood. Her health has been poor for many years. About two weeks ago Mrs. Bachelder was called by telegraph to the bedside of her daughter, where she remained until death's visit. The remains will arrive here tomorrow evening via the Wisconsin Central railway. Arrangements for the funeral have not as yet been completed but Rev. Perry will officiate. She leaves of her immediate family only a husband to mourn her loss.
