Mrs. Mary Lawrence G. King, wife of Fred B. King, president of the Oshkosh Muslim Underwear company, passed away Monday afternoon at the residence, 122 Waugoo street, after an illness of about four weeks. She had been an invalid for about four years. Two years ago she spent a winter in California in the hope of regaining her strength, but derived little or no benefit, a form of anemia ultimately resulted in her death. Mrs. King was forty-eight years of age, and was an unselfish, considerate wife and mother, during her illness keeping up the spirits of the family as long as possible. She was a woman who was continually thinking of others and not of herself and this disposition won her a great many friends who will deeply mourn her. She was born in Cherryfield, Me., May 28, 1859, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gorman, and came to Wisconsin with her parents in her early childhood. Her mother died shortly after coming here. On May 15, 1878, she was married to Fred B. King. Surviving are the husband and four children, Fred, Margaret, Elizabeth and Grace, all of the city. The funeral will be held Thursday morning at nine o'clock from St. Peter's church on High street, Rev. R.H. McDonald officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside cemetery.
