Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Hans KITTLESON ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, October 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Winneconne Local, Aug. 15, 1912 p.1 Drowns in Rat River Hans Kittleson, a well known farmer of the town of Winchester, met death by drowning, Tuesday afternoon, in the Rat river, a small stream which meanders through several townships in the northern part of the county. While in swimming, it is though he was suddenly seized with a cramp and sunk before help came. The remains were recovered soon after and the funeral was held Wednesday morning from the Winchester church. The deceased was forty-five years of age and is survived by four sisters. After his day's work, Kittleson went to the river to enjoy a swim, as he had often done before. A companion accompanied him, but he sat on the bank. He observed Kittleson to suddenly throw up his hands and sink. He was not again seen until the dead body was pulled from the river. No inquest was held.
