Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Andrew LANSING ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, January 2010 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.org/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Omro Journal January 30, 1896 p.1 Andrew Lansing, who has been ailing for a month or two, but would not employ a physician, was taken worse the latter part of the last week. He finally consented to let his friends call a doctor on Saturday afternoon last. His condition was such at that time that he could hardly breathe his lungs being filled up or congested. He improved somewhat during the night, but the doctors in charge of the case did not give much encouragement. Late Sunday afternoon he raisied up on his bed and turned around and put his feet off. He then sank back onto the bed and in a moment was dead. His sister who has been with him for some time was at his side helping him to get off the bed when he so suddenly expired. His funeral was held from the Methodist church on Tuesday forenoon at 10 o'clock. He leaves two children who are with their mother in the State of Washington. Mr. Lansing was born Oct. 5, 1819, in Onandaga Co, New York. At the age of 25 years he came West and settled in Fond du Lac County. In 1855 he came to Omro where he lived until 1883, when he moved to the town of Rushford. A year or two since he returned to this village.
