Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Ernest LEMBERGER ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, July 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern July 18, 1891 A Flying Switch It Causes the Death of a Central Section Man Ernest Lemberger, who was run over in the Central yards last night, died at St. Mary's hospital at two o'clock this morning. He was a section hand on the Central. He was standing on a side track at the Fourth street crossing while cars were being switched. In making a flying switch the cars cut out, struck Lemberger and pushed him along the track. His head and body were horribly mangled. He was taken to St. Mary's hospital by the patrol. It was though that he could not live an hours but he lingered until two o'clock this morning. Mr. Lemberger leaves a wife and four children. He lived at 416 Ninth street. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon from St. Vincent's church.
