Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Sophia LEUPOLD ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, August 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern March 24, 1893 Her Life Work Ended The Mother of William Leupold Dies Last Evening Mrs. Sophia Leupold died last evening at the residence of her son William Leupold, 286 Eleventh street. About three months ago she suffered a stroke of paralysis, from which she never rose from her bed. She was born in Prussia, Germany, in 1811, and came to this country with her husband and children in 1853, settling on a farm in the town of Vinland where she lived until last September, when her husband died and she came to this city to reside with her son. She leaves six children to mourn her loss. They are: John Leupold and Gustav Leupold of Milwaukee; Charles Leupold, town of Utica; Rudolph Leupold, town of Vinland; Amelia Leupold, California; and William Leupold of this city. The funeral will be held from her late residence on Eleventh street Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, and the remains will be interred at Riverside. The following gentlemen will act as pall bearers: G. Pittel, J. Baumgartner, G. Hiller, W. Neumann, P. Zentner and H. Bammessel.
