Mr. Loper was a brakeman on the Wisconsin Central. He had a freight run from her to Milwaukee and Waukesha. Ordinarily he had a day run but last night he was put on extra work. He was ont he cars while the train was in Rugby Junction and in some way the train parted. He was to the rear of the break walking toward the front of the train. It was dark and he could not see the break when he came to it and he fell down between the two cars. The rear part of the train was still in motion and passed over his body, injuring him so badly that he died almost instantly. The remains were taken to Milwaukee, and word was sent George P. Loper, his father, who went to Milwaukee this morning. Arthur Loper is known to nearly every one in Oshkosh. He was married last March, and he lived with his father on the corner of Merritt street and Jefferson Avenue. He has been in railroading for some time, and has had a regular run for about a year. He was twenty-one years of age and a bride of a few months mourns the death of her husband.
