Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Carl MACKE ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, July 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern March 1, 1893 Funeral of Carl Macke The funeral of Carl Macke took place yesterday afternoon from the residence of his sister, Mrs. Kusky, No. 295 Elm street. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Weng of the Church street Lutheran church, and the music was furnished by the choir of that church. The circumstances connected with the death of Carl Macke were particularly sad. He came home sick from Park Falls two weeks ago. His wife was away on a visit and he went to the home of his sister Mrs. Kusky and sent for his wife. He grew rapidly worse and could not be removed to his own home. After two weeks of intense suffering, during which he had an operation performed, he died of what a post mortem examination disclosed to be abcess [sic] of the liver. He leaves a wife and one child. Deceased was twenty-eight years of age and very popular among those who knew him, for his jovial ways and many agreeable traits of character.
