Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Henry MARIN ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, December 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Winneconne Local June 28, 1917 p.1 Henry Marin was born in Krakon, Mecklenberg Schwerian, Germany, Feb. 1, 1852. He died June 21, 1917. When about a year old he with his parents came to America. They settled on a homestead about four miles west of the village. After several years spent there his parents moved to Oshkosh where he attended school. Again the family moved to the farm in Poygan, where his father, the late John Marin, he worked at the mason trade. July 4, 1877, he married Miss Mary Bersch, who with four children survive. John Marin, of Newport, Wash., Wm. Marin of grand Rapids, Mrs. Arthur Mayer, Spokane, Wash., and Edward Marin of this village. For a number of years he was a partner in the general store, known as Bersen & Marin. In 1902, he with his family moved to Washington where engaged in farming, He returned to Winneconne about two years ago. Mr. Marin was highly respected by all. He was a devoted husband and kind father and always ready to help anyone who needed his assistance. Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Codd officiating. Interment in village cemetery.
