Winneconne Local June 28, 1917 p.1

Martin Mathison of Mt. Horeb, died at the home of his parents in this
village after a long illness with tuberculosis on Tuesday afternoon at the
age of 30 years.  He is survived by his wife and three children and his
parents Mr. and Mrs. Math Mathison and one brother.

Deceased was formerly interested in the lighting plant in Winneconne, later
going to Mt. Horeb where he became interested and by his over-working in
all kinds of weather to get the line and plant in first class condition, he
contracted sickness.  Then, being over-ambitious and energetic he continued
until his system was too far gone for human beings to assist him to
recovery.

Martin Mathison was well like in Mt. Horeb and won many friends who are not
of the forgetting kind, while he retains his full measure of friends in
Winneconne who sympathize with his remaining relatives.

The funeral took place Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the Mathison
home, the remains being taken to Mt. Horeb for interment.
