A week ago last Saturday Mr. Mauel was brought home from Tomahawk where he had been at work for some time, having suffered a partial stroke of paralysis, and from that time he had not spoken a word. He was sixty-three years of age, and has been an assessor of the Third and Sixth wards for eleven different terms. He leaves a wife a three children. Mr. Mauel was a most highly respected resident of the south side and has been prominent in German circles for many years.
