Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Amanda McCLEAN ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, January 2010 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.org/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Omro Journal January 30, 1896 p.1 Mrs. Amanda McClean, wife of James McClean of the town of Omro, who has been gradually failing in health for some months, of kidney trouble, died at the family residence at about nine o'clock on Saturday evening, aged 62 years. The family are old residents of this section and are well known. The funeral was held from the family residence at one o'clock on Monday afternoon. The body was buried in the village cemetery. Omro Journal January 30, 1896 p.8 Mrs. Amanda, wife of James McClean, who died at her home Jan 25th, was born in Oswego Co., N.Y., Nov. 21st, 1834. While a girl her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Noel Huntington moved to Racine, Wis., where she resided until her marriage which occurred Dec. 18th 1855. She then moved to Omro, where she has spent a quiet happy life, loved and respected by all who knew her. She was an affectionate wife and mother, and is sadly missed by her bereaved husband and daughter, who are left to mourn her loss. The funeral services conducted by Rev. J.T. Woodhead of the Methodist church, took place at the family residence Jan. 27th, after which the remains were laid in the Omro cemetery to rest until the Judgment Day.
