All was done for him that could be, but to little purpose, as he suddenly passed away at about 10 o'clock on Friday evening. The funeral was held at the Baptist church, on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Sherwin of the Methodist church officiating. Jos. McKeen was born in Windham, N.H., July 18, 1832, and died in Omro, Wis., July 17, 1896, making him 64 years of age. He came from his native state 40 years ago and has lived in various places in Wisconsin ever since. For twenty-five years he has been a resident of the town of Omro, and for the past six years has lived in the village. For thirty-five years Bro. McKeen has been a professor of religion and a member of the Christian church. He lived a consistent life and was always ready to give a reason for the hope that he cherished. Was firm believer in the second coming of Christ, and endeavored to live so as to be prepared to meet Him. Brother McKeen was a good citizen, a kind husband and father, and he will be kindly remembered by his any friends and acquaintances as a man of christian integrity, and strong convictions of right which he faithfully maintained to the last.
