McMillen After an Extended Illness- Funeral Sunday The death of Mrs. Sophia A. McMillen occurred at 10:30 last evening at the family residence on Jefferson avenue. Mrs. McMillen has been affected with heart disease for several years, but it was not until ten weeks ago that she was taken seriously ill. At the time it was the opinion of the attending physician that she would not survive the attack. There was nothing, however, in her condition yesterday to indicate that the end was near, and a few moments before her death she remarked that she felt much improved. Sophia A. McMillen was born in Pottersville, Warren County, New York, June 2, 1833, and was therefore 64 years of age. She was a daughter of Rev. Calvin Burge, a methodist minister. On Aug. 16, 1860 she was married to John H. McMillen, a brother of Robert McMillen and in 1865 the couple came west, locating in Oshkosh. Mr. McMillen died June 22, 1871, and since then Mrs. McMillen has resided in Oshkosh with her daughter, Miss Sarah McMillen. Besides Miss McMillen, the deceased leaves another daughter, Mrs. Charles Wicker, of this city. Mrs. McMillen has been an active member of the Methodist church nearly all her life and has been prominently connected with the First church in Oshkosh during her many years of residence here. The funeral will be held from the First Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
