The deceased had been for many years employed as baggageman at the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul railway depot. Some years ago he left that position to accept a place in Chicago. While there he was injured in the chest and was obliged to come home. He apparently recovered from this injury and was doing night work of various kinds when he was attacked by the grip. He never recovered from the effects of this disease and for the past two years has been an invalid. Recently, however, he appeared brighter and for the last two months he has been able to be upon the street. Saturday he was out nearly all day Late Saturday evening he was taken worse and he gradually sank until yesterday afternoon, when he died. Charles McPartlin was an unusually bright young man and although only twenty years old, he had already made a mark for himself and was greatly respected by all who knew him. His death, although expected, was a great shock to his friends, as there were faint hopes of ultimate recovery. The funeral will take place tomorrow from St. Peter's church. The young man was a member of the St. John's society and of the Oshkosh Guards.
