Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Bridget NEARY ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, November 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Winneconne Local June 5, 1913 p.1 Death of Mrs. Bridget Neary On Sunday morning, May 25, at the home of her grand-daughter, Mrs. Albert Meyers, in this city, occurred the death of Mrs. Bridget Neary, one of Wisconsin's oldest and most highly esteemed old ladies. Mrs. Neary's maiden name was Bridget Murry. She was born in Co Galway, Ireland, 83 years ago. At the age of 12 years she came to America and settled in Boston, Mass., where she was united in marriage to Edward Kelly. Four children were born to them. She and her husband came to Wisconsin in the early pioneer days and settled on a farm in Poygan, where took place the death of Mr. Kelly. Several years later she married Patrick Neary and six children blessed their union. Mr. Neary passed away 17 years ago. Mrs. Neary was high respected and loved by all who knew her, especially the children of the whole community, who loved her kind and always smiling face. She is survived by two daughters in the state of Washington and a sister, Mr. N. Killilea of Poygan. Her funeral took place at the St. Mary's church in Poygan. Rev. W. J. Luby officiating. Those from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. A. Donald, Chicago; Mrs. W. J. Killilia, Milwaukee; Merrill and Gordon Neary, Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Maher and daughter Helen, of Omro, and Thos Mongan of Oshkosh.
