Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Louisa O'Brien ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, March 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Winneconne Local September 26, 1918 p.4 Mrs. Louis O'Brien died at the Soldiers' Home in Waupaca, Friday, Sept. 20, due to a paralytic stroke, her recent illness therefrom being but two weeks' duration. The estimable lady had one other stroke seven years ago. Deceased was born at Saukville, December 28, 1853, being nearly 65 years of age. She was united in marriage to the late Patrick O'Brien, who went through Civil war days. Mrs. O'Brien leaves to survive her, one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Cyrtmus of Winneconne, two sisters and one brother, Mrs. William Walker of Brunswick, Ga., Mrs. Ella Davis, Mich., and George of Kimberly, together with eleven grand-children and two great-grand-children. Mrs. Cyrtmus was called to her mother's bedside to care for her wants as each one had often times consoled and waited on the other in many years back and were especially attached also as the elderly lady made her home here, having lived here most all her life until not very long ago leaving for the beautiful Veterans' Home at Waupaca, where she departed this life. Mrs. Cyrtmus arranged to have her mother's remains brought here for burial, the funeral being held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. L.J. Albert officiating, the remains being laid to rest beside her late husband. The Eastern Star Rebekah and Relief Corp organizations turned out in a body to the obsequies. The following from out of town attended the funeral: Mrs. William Wilson, Mrs. William Freeman, Mrs. Mary Halsey, Mr. and Mrs. S. Bingen, all of Oshkosh. Miss Gladys Cyrtmus of Milwaukee. Mrs. Leo Cyrtmus and Irene and Lillian Cyrtmus, all of Neenah. Mr. and Mrs. George Hatch of Kimberly. The pall bearers were: Major Ashby, Chris. Wisemiller, Chris. Bersch, Lamont Miller, A.O. Olen and O. Clow.
