Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Elizabeth PARISH ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern January 19, 1901 p. 6 Stroke Proved Fatal Mrs. Elizabeth Parish Passes Away Without Regaining Consciousness Mrs. Elizabeth Parish, who suffered a stroke of apoplexy early Friday morning, passed away just eighteen hours later, at midnight, unconscious to her surroundings. From the outset it was feared the deceased would not rally, on account of her advanced age. Mrs. Parish was a woman of strong christian principles, kind and loving to her family and of a bright and cheery disposition when among friends and neighbors. The deceased was born in Hartford, Conn., April 6, 1822. she removed to Oshkosh twenty-six years ago with her family from Springfield, Ill. Her husband, C. G. Parish, died some eight years ago, her brother, the late Dr. Minor, who was pastor at the time of the erection of the First Baptist church of this city, passing away at about the same time, but a few days intervening. Mrs. Parish has been a life long member of the First Baptist church. Two sons, George W. Parish and E. R. Parish, both of this city, survive. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock from the home of E. R. Parish, 82 Park street, Rev. J. P. Abbott of the First Baptist church officiating. The pall bearers will be the sons, E. R. Parish, George W. Parish, grandson, Leslie Parish and Mr. David Lawson
