He was a brother of Frank Powers, of West Irving street, and came to Oshkosh in 1860, settling upon the farm now occupied by W.W. Wright. In 1866 he went to Evanston and opened a livery stable. Mr. Powers leaves a wife, but no children, his only daughter having died a short time ago. The funeral was held Sunday. Frank Powers and John Washburn of this city were in attendance.
