Corbett While waiting to take a treatment at the office of Dr. M. E. Corbett, 156 Court street, this morning about ten o'clock, John Ref of 12 Seventh avenue, West Algoma, died almost instantly in the presence of the members of his family, following a fatal attack of heart failure of but a few minutes duration. The deceased was thirty-three years of age and had been a resident of the city but for the past month, having recently come to this country from Russia where he was born. It was not deemed necessary to call a coroner's jury. It was but a few minutes before ten o'clock that Mr. Reff, who had been taking treatments at the office of Dr. Corbett since his arrival in Oshkosh, arrived at the office with his wife and members of his family. They were seated in the reception room, Mr. Reff waiting his turn to go to the treating room in charge of Dr. N. Andrews, who has charge of the office while Dr. Corbett is abroad, when without the slightest warning, his head tipped back and his face assumed a deathly pallor. His wife quickly went to the assistance of her husband and Dr. Andrews was summoned from the next room, who administered restoratives, but all treatment was in vain. The doctor pronounced the man dead within four minutes after being taken with the attack. Dr. Andrews states that the cause of death was heart failure. The deceased had been ill for some years past with a complication of heart and lung troubles and it was considered by the attending physician since beginning to take treatments in this city, that his demise was but a matter of a short time. The remains were taken to the undertaking rooms of William Konrad. The deceased was employed for a time at the Paine Lumber company's plant. The funeral arrangements have not as yet been made
