Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Rosina RHYNER ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, April 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern Dec. 29, 1927 p. 12 Old Settler Dies Mrs. Rosina Rhyner, Pioneer Resident of Winnebago County, Passes Away at Her Home Mrs. Rosina Rhyner, who with her parents was one of the earliest settlers of Black Wolf, passed away this morning at 2 o'clock at her home, 549 Bowen street, in this city. Mrs. Rhyner was 84 years of age. She was born March 12, 1843, at Elm, Switzerland. She came to this country with her parents when she was 2 years old. The family settled at Black Wolf and Mrs. Rhyner was the last of that early group of settlers. Her husband passed away in 1888, nearly forty years ago. Mrs. Rhyner moved to Oshkosh to reside in 1894. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. John Elmer of this city, Mrs. John Steier of Butte des Morts, and Mrs. Charles Erickson of Ferndale, Mich., and a brother, Hilarius Rhyner of this city. Ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon. Private services for relatives will be held at the home at 2 o'clock. Church services will be at the First Reformed Church, corner of Eleventh and Minnesota streets, at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. William Oelrich will officiate. The remains may be viewed at the home, 549 Bowen street, Sunday and up to the hour of the home service, Monday. January 3, 1928 p. 4 Rhyner- funeral services for Mrs. Rosina Rhyner were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home, 549 Bowen street, and at 2:30 o'clock from the First Reformed church. Rev. William Oelrich was the officiating clergyman. The pallbearers were Frank Laudenklos, Roman Gansen, Mark Hooper, John Voss, Edwin Elmer and Norman Elmer. Interment was in the Riverside cemetery.
