Shipman Dead An Old and Well Known Resident of Omro Passes Away Omro, Wis., April 8- Justice of Peace E.D. Shipman, an old and well known resident, died here yesterday morning of pneumonia. Mr. Shipman was quite a prominent member of the G.A.R. and was also a member of the Oshkosh lodge No. 25, Knights of Pythias. His funeral will occur tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock. The deceased leaves a wife, one son and three daughters, who will greatly miss a kind and indulgent husband and father. Mr. Shipman was born in Beamsville, Canada, April 14, 1839, and would have been 56 years old next Sunday. He came to Wisconsin with his father's family in 1848, and lived in Fond du Lac and Wrightstown, from which place he came to Omro in 1883. He was one of the first to enlist in the war, and during the war was member of three different regiments, the last being the Fifth Wisconsin, Company I, and so was one of the boys who followed Sherman to the sea. From his hard service during the war his health has since been very poor.
