Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Mary E. (Ford) SHOEMAKER ************************************************************************ Submitted by Donna Connell, December 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Neenah Times, evening edition, Sept 26, 1885, page 1 DEATH OF MRS. H. SHOEMAKER Mrs. H. Shoemaker, wife of Hiram Shoemaker, and sister to Mr. J.R. Ford, and to Mrs. C.H. Servis, died at the Northern Asylum this morning. Her disease was dysentery. Although in the Asylum, her mind was gradually becoming clearer, though she had a presentiment that she would never again see Neenah. Her age was 59 years. She came to Neenah 36 years ago. The death of her two grown-up children, of fine promise, was the cause of unsettling her mind. Deceased was a true christian woman, a member of the Baptist church. Her death is a sad one, and the relatives have the deepest sympathy of all. Funeral will probably on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence here, Rev. T.C. Wilson officiating. Deceased was married to Hirman Shoemaker 37 years ago this month, at Saratoga Springs. Additional Comments: One of the daughters of William E. Ford Sr. and Eliza Ann McBride.
