W. Stevens, who died at his home in Rushford, Oct. 8th, was born in Knox Co. Ohio. Sept 22, 1823. While yet a boy his parents moved to Laporte, Ind. He was married to Miss Hannah E. His poor health for twelve years past has kept him from attending church and other social gatherings that he would have loved to enjoy. He was an affectionate husband and a kind indulgent father, and is sadly missed in his home. The funeral services conducted by Rev. J. T. Woodhead of the Methodist church, took place at the family residence Oct. 11, after which the funeral was formed and proceeded to the Rushford cemetery where he was laid to rest until the resurrection morn.
