Thompson, of Omro, dead A Brother of the Oshkosh Carriage dealer Expires of Pneumonia After an Illness of only Four Days. A.F. Thompson of Omro died at his home at one o'clock this morning. Mr. Thompson is a traveling salesman for the J.M. Clark Carriage company of Oshkosh, and was at Mankato, Minn., last Friday, where he was seized with an acute attack of pneumonia. His case seemed serious, so his brother, George Thompson, the well known carriage dealer of this city, was telegraphed for and the sick man started for his home. George Thompson met his brother at Horicon Junction yesterday and as soon as he entered the car he saw that the sick man was in critical condition. He was very weak and already becoming black in the face. He was taken to Omro last evening, but lived only until one o'clock this morning. Mr. Thompson's death will occasion great surprise wherever he was known. Up to last Friday he enjoyed perfect health, but the attack was so severe that even his strong constitution was unable to withstand it. Mr. Thompson was very well known in Oshkosh, and he had many very warm friends here beside a large number of pleasant acquaintances. He was unusually respected and liked and was looked upon as an honest, upright citizen and generous man. He leaves a wife and one daughter. He carried an insurance of $2,000. The funeral will be held at Omro, probably tomorrow.
