Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: William UECKE ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, November 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Winneconne Local Dec. 10, 1914 p.1 William Uecke was born May 29, 1829, in Schwerse, Pommerania, Germany, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. August Krueger in Winneconne, Dec. 2, 1914, at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 4 days. Mr. Uecke was a miller by trade. In 1860 he was united in marriage to Miss Hannah Rowe and in 1866 he and his wife came to America and settled at Milwaukee and a few years later they removed to a farm near Granville and resided there for 32 years. In 1907 he moved to Winneconne where they resided until death. Mrs. Uecke died Jan. 25, 1912, and Mr. Uecke then went to live with his daughter, Mrs. August Krueger. He had been ill for a long time and confined to his bed. Mr. Uecke was a member of the Saint Paul German Lutheran church of this village. He leaves to mourn his loss 1 son, 5 daughters, 1 brother, 6 son- in-laws, 1 daughter-in-law, 23 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The funeral was held at the German Lutheran church Sunday at 2 o'clock. Rev. Hoyer officiating. Interment in the village cemetery.
