Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Frank WALESKI ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, December 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern April 22, 1895 p.1 Drowned in a Dog Slip Accidental Drowning Yesterday Afternoon of Young Frank Waleski Frank Waleski, 69 Walnut street, a boy about fifteen years of age, was accidentally drowned in the river while playing in the log slip at Paine's mill yesterday afternoon. Young companions immediately gave the alarm and assistance was rendered in a short time by the fire boys from the Paine engine house; but before they could reach the spot the body had gone down for the last time and only the hat of the unfortunate boy, who was riding upon the waters, gave mute evidence of the casualty. The body was easily recovered, however, as it was found to be in only five feet of water, and was taken to Konrad's undertaking rooms. This morning a coroner's jury was impaneled and evidence taken before Justice Crozier. Frank Brewer, Frank Sawtell, D. Lane, Frank Reveland, Joseph Hanley and James Johnston served as jurors and returned a verdict that death was purely accidental. The funeral services will take place tomorrow
