Marriage: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Harrison-Peckham ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, 10 June 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern February 21, 1890 One of the most enjoyable social events of the season was the marriage on last Wednesday evening of Miss Helen Chloe Peckham of Neenah, to Mr. Samuel J. Harrison of Escanaba. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Verner of St. Joseph, Mich., at precisesly eight o'clock. In the parlor, the scene of the happy event, the decoration was superb. The bridal couple stood in an immense floral retreat in a corner of the room. Above them was a beautiful design in which appeared the letters P and H. Wreaths above each door and window added to the beauty of the artistic work. Refreshments were served in the dining hall, which had also been visited by the tasty decorator. About eighty of the intimate friends and immediate relatives of the contracing parties were in attendance, a much small number than at first intended. The bride presented a charming picture in a tasty cream white costume. The groom wore the customary black. Both parties are wide and favorably known here. Mr. Harrison occupies a position as train dispatcher at Escanaba, where they will make their future home. The bride is one of the favorities in the society of the Twin cities.
