Johnston Sunday afternoon, when their son Edward R. Johnson was united in marriage to Miss Marie Scheckel of Oshkosh. Promptly at four o'clock the opening strains of the wedding march played by Miss Lillian Smerling of Chicago, announced the entrance of the wedding party. The bride and groom took their places beneath a floral horse shoe where the ring service was read by Rev. B. H. Freye of the Presbyterian church. The bride was attended by Mrs. Kitty Shano, sister of the groom and Miss Margaret Anninger. The groomsmen were Arden Bormann and Carl Mathisen, and Miss Vivian Horan acted as ring bearer. The house was profusely decorated with gladiolus and ferns. The bride was gowned in white embroidered silk voile, and carried a bouquet of white roses and ferns. The young couple received many beautiful and useful gifts. Immediately after the ceremony an elegant wedding supper was served to the wedding guests who were the immediate relatives of the family. The happy couple soon after left in their automobile for a wedding trip to Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Milwaukee, Chicago and points in Dodge County, Wisconsin. On their return they will be at home with the groom's parents, who are proprietors of the Wolf River House, a well known summer hotel of this village.
