Marriage: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Owens-Klumpf ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, June 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern May 30, 1890 A Quiet Evening Wedding The Marriage of E.C. Owens and Miss Emely Klumpf Last evening at eight o'clock, at the residence of Rev. H. Stone Richardson, on New street, E.C. Owens and Miss Emely Klumpf were united in marriage, the ceremony being performed by Mr. Richardson, of whose holdhold Miss Klumpf has been a member for many years. The wedding was a very quiet one, only a few of the more intimate friends of the contracting parties comprising the guests. The usual congratulations and a nice wedding supper followed the ceremony, and later in the evening Mr. and Mrs. Owens departed on a brief wedding to Tower, Minn., and other places. The groom in this event is a traveling salesman for Robert McMillen and is widely known as a good business man. He filled the office of alderman for the Fifth ward with credit to himself and his constituents and was, in fact, one of the leading members of the common council during his membership. His bride is a lady of many charming qualities. The presents at the wedding last evening were substantial tokens of the appreciation of the many friends of the contracting parties. Among the gifts was an easy chair from employes of Robert McMillen. .... Mr. and Mrs. Owens will reside in Oshkosh.
