Marriage: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Thalheim-Laabs ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, July 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern May 11, 1893 Laabs-Thalheim The wedding of Miss Lydia Laabs, eldest daughter of John Laabs, the well known lumberman, and Mr. John Thalheim of Fond du Lac, took place at the residence of the bride's parents last evening at eight o'clock, and was a very pretty affair. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. F. Allert of the German Methodist church, after which a reception was held and a wedding supper served. During the evening music was rendered by the Home Circle orchestra, of which the bride was a member. The presents were both numerous and beautiful, many of them being very costly. About 100 guests were present, many of them being from abroad. Both Mr. and Mrs. Thalheim are well known in this city. Mrs. Thalheim having taken a prominent part in south side society of many years, and the groom having been superintendent of the Guerney Refrigerator company when the plant was located here. He now holds the same position. Mr. and Mrs. Thalheim will reside in Fond du Lac after a brief wedding trip in northern Wisconsin.
