Marriage: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Thielen-Haben ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, June 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern September 25, 1890 Thielen-Haben A Pretty Wedding Solemnized at St. Peter's Catholic Church Frank Thielen, Jr., and Miss Margaret Habel were married at St. Peter's church at nine o'clock this morning. The wedding was a quite [sic] one, only the immediate friends of the two families being present. The ceremony however was very pretty. The bridal couple accompanied by the bridesmaid and the groomsman, Miss Nellie Thielen and John W. Haben, entered the church at the main entance [sic] and marched up the aisle to the chancel within which the bridal party were seated during the ceremony. The marriage was performed by the Very Rev. James O'Malley, V.G. It was the usual marriage service of the Catholic church and was followed by high mass A Wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents on Park street. The bride was dressed in ivory white faille, cut court train, V neck, and the ornaments were natural roses. Miss Thielen wore a pink Henrietta Greek gown with natural flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Thielen started on their wedding trip this afternoon. When they return they will go to housekeeping and will be at home to their friends at 166 Washington street after October 9. Mr. and Mrs. Thielen are both well known in Oshkosh. The groom is the eldest son of Frank Thielen and the bride is the eldest daughter of F.X. Haben. They have a large circle of friends who are wishing them God speed
