Zager and Miss Bessie H. Starks, both of the city of Oshkosh, were united in marriage at the home of the bride's brother, Bernard J. Starks, 162 Wright St., last Thursday evening, September 12, at 7:30 o'clock. Rev. Edward H. Smith, pastor of the First Congressional Church of that city, performing a simple ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.C. Starks, of this village, and is an accomplished musician, playing the pipe organ and piano with considerable ability. She was daintly gowned in white Marquisette silk trimmed with worlds of white lace to match, and in her hand she carried an exquisite boquet of white bridal roses. The groom is a prosperous young real estate broker of Oshkosh, and is the son of Mr. Johanna Zager, of Omro. The young couple were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Bernard J. Starks. The house was profusely decorated with oceans of flowers in the red, green and white effect, with floral streamers hung from the sides of the room to the chandelier in the center. Numerous vases containing exquisite boquets of large white and red roses, together with banking of other flowers added a touch of extreme exquisiteness to all of the rooms. A large bay window in the west side of the parlor formed a background in front of which the ceremony was performed, on the curtain overhanging the window a monogram of the initials of the contracting parties was affixed and after the congratulations the party seated themselves to a tasty wedding repast. The young couple were the recipients of many beautiful and useful gifts including cut glass pieces, china and silver and gifts of money. They immediately took up their residence in the home prepared by the groom at 12 Linwood Ave. Those from away where were in attendance were: Mrs. Bessie Kelley Donald of Milwaukee; Miss Elsie Longton, of Depere; Mrs. Ada Merrill and Mis Edna Merrill, of Ripon; Mrs. and Mrs. B.C. Starks, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Bersch, Miss Leona Smith and Miss Daisy Rogers, of Winneconne; Mr. and Mrs Harvey Basel, of Buttes des Morts; Miss Julia M. Paulson, of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Johanna Zager, of Omro.
