High Ercall Letters - c 1850-1870. Transcribed by Roberta's mother, contributed by Roberta Bailey : Family letters from England to a family who lived in Wood County, WI dating from the 1850's to the 1870's. Two brothers, Thomas & John Davies, came to America leaving their parents & siblings in England. Some of these letters are complete with the mispellings & some have been cleaned up. Roberta's mother started transcribing them several years ago but passed away before finishing so Roberta picked up where she left off. In all it looks like there are 16. Longswood My Dear Brother and sistear. Thank you fore your welcom lettar and fore wat was in it. I was veary much pleased to see my Dear Thoms hare. It is the same as it was when he went from home but the little girls is vearry much licke mine was wen I was hir age. I should licke to see hir but I ham afraid I never shall. I was at home last week and mother is better but she looks vearry much older but we must expct it as she is getting old now. We hav had a vearry long harvist this year. It will be vearry near Christmas wen you get this and I wish you all a Merry Christmass and a good New Year. I have sent you sum of my hare so now I must say good by with kind Love to you all.
