Between Samuel ELLIFRIT and Mary his wife, William JAMES and Amanda his wife, Aaron DUCKWORTH and Jane DUCKWORTH his wife, George DUCKWORTH and Rachel his wife, Admiral N. DUCKWORTH and Sarah his wife, William DUCKWORTH and Mary Jane his wife, George WEAVER and Guldey his wife, Uriah WEAVER and Margaret his wife, Solomon WEAVER and Emeline his wife, Isaac MITCHELL and Derinda his wife of the first part and Orson DUCKWORTH of the second part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and eighty dollars of which sum the said party of the second part has paid the sum of one hundred ten dollars the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged. And for the residue has executed to George DUCKWORTH & William JAMES his two several notes for $35.00 each the said JAMES note is payable in September 1856, the said DUCKWORTH note is payable on the 1st day of June 1859. And a lien is hereby expressly reserved upon the land hereinafter conveyed for the said unpaid purchase money. In consideration of the promises the said parties of the first part do grant with general warranty unto the said Orson DUCKWORTH and his heirs forever a certain parcel of land in Barbour County Virginia, bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at the stone pile corner to lands of Adam MINEAR, S20 W28 poles passing a stone corner to lands of Alexander PROUDFOOT at ? poles from the Beginning to a Black walnut on said PROUDFOOTS line also corner to Isaac MITCHELL thence with MITCHELL line S84 E32 3/4 poles to a popular N77 E80 3/4 poles to a Beech N24 E57 3/4 poles to a Maple N70 E32 3/4 poles tp a hickory S60 1/2 W 107 3/4 poles to the beginning containing 36 1/4 acres being one half of the farm upon which Henry DUCKWORTH lived at the time of his death.
