Stemple & Forman Funeral Home
Miranda Mayle, 85, of Philippi, died Friday, February 20, at her home, 
following an extended illness. 
She was born July 23, 1918, at Philippi, a daughter of the late Earl and Laura 
Mayle Croston. 
Her husband, Luther Mayle preceded her in death in 1944. 
Surviving are one daughter, Nellie Rosalee Kennedy, Philippi; one son, Delbert 
Lee Mayle, Philippi; three sisters, Vialene Kennedy, Moatsville, Evalene 
Kennedy and Loretta Newman, both of Canton, Oh.; nine grandchildren, Beverly 
Weaver, Cora Kennedy, Ellen Mayle, Dedria Mayle, Ida Bowman, Delbert Mayle, 
David Kennedy, Luther Kennedy and Todd Kennedy; and six great grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by one son, Harry Junior Mayle; by three daughters, 
Emogene Sparks and infant twin daughters; by three sisters, Isabelle Newman, 
Orlenis Dalton and Saragourney Newman; and by one brother, Nichodemus Croston. 
Mrs. Mayle was a homemaker. 

(Friends may call at the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home in Philippi from 6:00 
until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Monday, 
February 23, when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home 
chapel with the Rev. Winfield Mayle officiating. Interment will follow in the 
Mayle Cemetery.
