He was born, November 26, 1932, at Philippi, a son of the late Leroy and Jessie Lee (Newman) Mayle. Twice married, he is survived by his second wife, the former Lula May Croston and was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Hallie May Croston. Also surviving are four sons, Ricky (Peggy) Mayle, Joseph (Tammy) Mayle and Christopher Mayle all of Philippi, Timothy (Angela) Mayle, Canton, Oh.; four daughters, Toni (Larry) Barnett, Jacqueline (Blaine) Croston, Rebecca (Junior) Collins, all of Philippi, Melissa (Ronald) Newman, Culpeper, Va.; three sisters, Della Mayle, Canton, Mona Jo Mayle and Eileen Mayle, both of Philippi; nineteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Bruce Mayle and Marcus Dean Mayle; by three sisters, Averille Croston, Lenora Croston and Sara Jo Collins; and by two brothers, Lemuel Mayle and William McKinley Mayle. Mr. Mayle was retired mine electrician and mechanic for Badger Coal Co. He was discharged in 1954 from the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Olive Hill Apostolic Church and the U.M.W. of A. He enjoyed car trips and yard sales and prior to the decline in his health, was an avid hunter and fisherman. (Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, Nov. 25, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Troy McCartney and the Rev. Dolly Smith will officiate and interment will follow in the Welch Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by Barbour Post #44, American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday and from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Friday.
